pathways to tech
Pathways to Tech is a series of learning opportunities beginning with Apple’s Swift programming language and enhancing employability skills. Pathways learners build confidence with coding, develop digital and essential skills, and attain post-secondary credentials. Upon course completion, Ed Farm illuminates additional post-secondary pathways learners can follow to continue their journey towards software development, information technology, and entrepreneurship.

Pathways to Tech
who is the pathways course for?
Pathways is free and held in person for adults 18+ with a high school diploma or GED who live in Blount, Chilton, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, or Walker counties. Learners must attend 90 percent of the classes.what will learners create?
Learners work on multiple labs and guided projects during Pathways. Through these experiences, learners build a mobile app portfolio to share with potential employers.what should learners expect?
Pathways is an interactive learning environment that meets people where they are. Ed Farm instructors treat all learners with respect and design lessons with a focus on learning objectives.what do learners need?
Ed Farm provides devices, curriculum, expert instructors, and networking opportunities. Learners just need to exercise a commitment to the course and bring a growth mindset to every class.how can I join pathways?

CodingSolutions is a competitive job accelerator and talent refinement program that recruits and transitions college graduates with past programming experience into professional careers.
Sigao Studios
Sigao Studios is Birmingham-based Agile coaching and software development firm specializing in technology solutions built on the Microsoft Platform. Sigao regularly offers a three-day course that guides participants through the world of Scrum Mastery and Product Ownership.
University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)
UAB’s Department of Computer Science offers undergraduate and graduate programs in computer science. Students can pursue a B.S. in Computer Science, M.S. in Cyber Security, M.S. in Data Science, and more.
NCWIT
The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) is the only national nonprofit focused on women’s participation in computing across the entire ecosystem, helping more than 1,100 organizations recruit, retain, and advance women from K-12 and higher education through industry and entrepreneurial careers by providing support, evidence, and action. NCWIT offers multiple programs, including Aspirations in Computing and Counselors for Computing.
